He’s at it again

I can’t really be bothered to blog today, so I’ll leave you with this, from my sister’s blog:

“think dad has lost the plot again, I got a text off him yesterday saying “we’re in blackpool. it’s raining. mum’s wingeing and i’m being fabulous as usual” shortly followed by “mum complained that she wasn’t wingeing so I hit her and now she is”.. and then “what’s small red and annoying”.. after 25 years of these questions I should have learnt not to ask what.. because the response this time was “not sure either but I’m going to stick his head into his happy meal bag is he doesn’t shut up soon.”

Yup, between this, his purchase of the entire West Wing box set and his newfound passion for Second Life - the online game – my dad is enjoying retirement.

Monty Python’s Flying Circus – Musical Mice

Chris was talking about this today, and I couldn’t remember it. So he sent me the link.

Monty Python are genius.

Jack Thompson will have a field day with this

The PlayStation 3 is coming out in the US, which has seen the inevitable queuing up of many geeks, morons and prospective eBay goldminers over the last few days.

All this to buy a “murder simulator”?

Well, yes. But, bizarrely – wonderfully – Jack Thompson may have been right about his phrase, because an as-yet-unidentified group of people took umbrage at the queuing outside a Best Buy in Kentucky, and performed a GTA-style drive-by shooting, with BB guns.

One comment-monkey on Joystiq came out with a good line to sum up the carnage: “The PS3 spawn point was littered with campers….”

Oh dear.

Life imitating Art imitating Life, etc

That is an actual photo of an actual room in an actual hotel in Berlin. All of the rooms of the Arte Luise Kunsthotel have been designed by different artists, including the room “Comic”, shown above.

I love it. I’d hate to wake up with a hangover in this room – given my general love of comics, this would only besottle my bewildered brain – but that room is fan-fucking-tastic.

Musical depravity

I was going to blog about how fab Muse were when Liz and I saw them live. However, my little sister has done a far better job than I could ever hope to do. So, in the time honoured tradition of t’intrawub, follow the white rabbit.

You’ll have to ignore the insane ramblings she makes throughout the post, however. Chris, a quick warning: there’s a picture of a cat at the bottom. Quite seriously, the cat gets insulted, and she will hunt you down. This is not jest. Think of a certain Monty Python sketch, and substitute the word ‘cat’ for ‘parrot’.

When hygiene becomes important

Going to see Muse tomorrow. Read the following on my sister’s blog:

“then mum and dad are going to pop over on saturday morning to say hi to geoff because they haven’t seen him in a while”

For “a while”, read “since April”. Guess I’d better have a shave, then…
